Location: Drogheda, Louth Salary: €226681 - €272290 per annum
We are seeking a dedicated Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine to join our team at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. This role combines clinical excellence with leadership, focusing on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care for children in a busy Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership: Supervise and support the Paediatric Emergency team, including Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors (NCHDs), ensuring a positive, collaborative environment. Patient Care: Provide expert, evidence-based emergency care for paediatric patients, ensuring timely treatment and excellent outcomes.
Service Planning: Contribute to the Paediatric Emergency Department’s development and performance as part of the Clinical Directorate Service Plan, aligning with hospital goals and national healthcare policies. Quality & Safety: Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and risk management activities to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
Collaboration: Work with hospital management to implement changes in healthcare delivery, ensuring the best possible paediatric emergency services.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. 2+ years desirable (1yr Paediatric Emergency Experience) Eligibility to register with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) under the Specialist Registration. Strong leadership and communication skills, with a commitment to patient safety and continuous improvement. Hours: 37 per week
